Kim Tantlinger,
22, of Burlington was crowned Miss Vermont USA
on November 25, 2007.
She is a graduate of the University of Vermont,
and currently employed at Burton Snowboards. Representing
Vermont at the Miss USA pageant has been a lifelong
dream of Kim’s and she is extremely excited
about this opportunity.
Born and raised in Vermont, Kim enjoys being outdoors
and loves snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking,
swimming and running. When she isn’t outdoors,
you can find her curled up with a book or spending
time with her family, friends, and pets.
Kim
received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition
and
Food Science in 2006. While attending
the University of Vermont, Kim was also member
of the UVM Rescue Squad. After completing an
intense course and passing the state exam, she
obtained
her license as an Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT). She volunteered over 20 hours a week for
the Rescue Squad while attending school full
time and working another part time job.
Throughout
her year as Miss Vermont USA 2008, Kim will
work with the official cause of Miss
USA,
which includes breast and ovarian cancer education,
research, and legislation, as well as other
causes close to her heart. Kim will represent
Vermont
at the nationally televised Miss USA pageant
in the spring on NBC.
